"Hi!" said a female voice.

Jamie jerked upright and cried out in alarm. The girl jumped back a step and also let out a yelp. As Jamie's heart raced, she realized it was the girl from the day before. "Parker, right?"

"Yes," Parker squeaked. Today, she wore a concert T-shirt for Broken Gazebo and had decorated her eye shadow with leopard spots. "Sorry, didn't mean to startle you."

"No it's fine." Jamie hesitated, her face growing warm. Had Parker really been asking her out on a date? "Was there something you wanted?"

Parker froze for a moment. Finally, something clicked and she said, "Yes. Yes, there is. Mind if I sit down?"
