Jamie's dad, Charles, followed her out to the car with a stern look on his face. Jamie knew he was just waiting until they got inside the car to talk to her, and she didn't want to hear it. But she knew she'd have to deal with this sooner or later.

She didn't look at her father as they each got into the car. He put his key in the ignition but didn't turn it. Silence hung between them. Jamie broke the silence.

"Will you just get it out of your system, Dad?" She looked out the window, not wanting to see the look on his face.

Charles took a deep breath and released it before saying, "A football player, huh?"

Jamie said, "Yes."

"Like how big?"

"Six foot? Couple hundred pounds?"

"Knocked him out?"
