When scanning a room, I learned to do so in a natural way that wouldn't cause comment from those around me. While I would sometimes be teased about having eyes in the back of my head, I learned to laugh it off without arousing curiosity.
Not all the changes were internal. I began changing the way I held myself, taking on more masculine stances in the way that I walked and carried myself. Talking more with my hands, making big gestures, looking at people directly, while trying to take up as much physical space as I could without being obvious about it. I wanted to give the impression that I had an open, gregarious personality, someone people would like to know without needing to look too far beyond the surface.
