Sitting alone in the dark, my son's still asleep in the next room, I went over my life and my options. My mother had made it clear when I left that I was on my own, calling her was not an option I cared to pursue. I had Doug, my dearest friend in Phoenix, but I did not believe that staying in the area was an option either. It was too close to Nev and he would find me if I stayed in the city. Going through everyone in my mind, discarding anyone close and all of my family, I decided I would call Ginny and Michael. Michael was stationed in Oklahoma, close enough for traveling, far enough away, hopefully, to keep Nev from following me.
   Waiting until I was sure Nev was good and gone for the night, I made the call. Half asleep, Ginny answered the phone, at first not recognizing...
