Settling into our new apartment, we began to realize the amount of water damage that had been done during our trip to my clothes. Everything needed to be washed or it would be lost to mildew, and as an added surprise, there was a green goo over a large swath of my things as well. My mother had packed us food for our trip, and somehow a container of green Jell-O salad had escaped the cooler, sliming whatever was near it as it oozed out.
Instead of taking days to get everything washed, since the laundry room was often busy and only had two washers, we decided to take it all to the laundry mat instead.
