My first week in Phoenix was not what I had been expecting at all. I had assumed we would settle in, Cindy would go back to work while I found a job and only rely on my savings sparingly, as needed. As it turned out, without that little nest egg I had collected, we both would have been in a world of hurt.
   The morning following our disastrous introduction, Cindy and her now ex-boyfriend had a huge fight while I hung out in the spare bedroom. It did not end well for either of them. Sweeping through the room, she gathered me up and announced we were going to Doug's.
