   I was speechless. I didn't have a single idea what to say to what he had offered. That it was generous beyond imagining was without a doubt, but I didn't feel I could ask that of any of them. I cared about each of them, loved them in my own way and I knew that each of them loved me in return. But, to have them dedicate their lives to me, and raising a child that wasn't theirs, wasn't something I could ask of any of them.
