   As a foster child, one of the requirements is to go to court on occasion. It mostly consists of a lot of people shuffling paper in a courtroom, discussing you, while you sit quietly in a chair and are firmly ignored. There are usually case workers, counselors, perhaps a juvenile officer, a judge, sometimes your foster parents and a host of other people whose job mostly seems to be finding and handing over documents while nodding in agreement with whatever is being said. As the center of all this activity, you are only required to be there, as your future is discussed and planned out without any input. Progress goals are created that must be accomplished, but you're never asked if it is something you want or need.
