“This will be completely awesome.  We’re going to catch him off guard,” Clive said excitedly, plopping the ladder against the corridor wall.

            Rex shook his head.  “I can’t believe you actually brought that ladder in here.”

            “Why not?  My dad never uses it.”  Clive tipped his newly acquired gray beret back on his head and looked up eagerly.  The beret somehow made him look more British than ever.  “If my hunch is correct, that hatch will lead to the main section of the attic, which will in turn lead us right onto the rooftop.”

            Devin still wasn’t persuade...
