            Devin pulled the black knit cap down further over his forehead, peeking out through the rear window of Rex’s old black Civic at the front entrance of the Escamonde Hotel. 

They were parked a few spots down from the quaintly detailed, green and beige-painted façade, across the street from the Cone Zone ice cream shop.  On one level, Devin felt completely ridiculous, spying on his old workplace as though he was a disgruntled staffer returning for revenge against his callous, poorly groomed boss after being fired.  On the other hand, he was determined to get another interview, however brief, with the apparition in white, the mysterious female he’d seen by the walnut tree and in the vacant guest...
