Chapter Twelve

Devin was relieved that for this venture into the Rousten grounds, they were better equipped to find their way around since Rex had brought his new high-powered flashlight.  After a spirited debate about who was the best choice to wield the device, Clive won out and took control of the light.  Rex had to admit that even though he was the megalight’s owner, Clive had the best mental image of the grounds’ layout.  Not only had he been on the property before, which was more than Rex could say, but his first visit had begun before sunset, so he had an actual daylight memory to go by.
