Chapter 8—Frank Mason

Frank Edward Mason, Jr. finished making his run around the estate. It took most of a day to do so, but that was his job. Tonight was a big whoop-de-doo, what with all of Craig’s friends coming over for some big party. Frank was gardener, grounds keeper, and forest ranger, all rolled up into one. If it grew out of or ran across the ground, it was his responsibility, and had been for eighteen years. Craig liked to keep most of it wild so it didn’t require much maintenance. Still, it had to be checked every couple of days. Craig gave him quite a bit of leeway on how he handled things. If something came up that needed his attention, Frank did it.
