“That’s me, but I’m not bringing it down. That would be impossible. But I am going to transform it. I’m not exactly sure how just yet, but that’s my goal. And I want Father Thomas to help. The senseless murders have got to stop.” He watched Father Samuel’s face. “Are we going to have trouble with each other?”

He shook his head. “Probably not. Father Thomas speaks highly of you. And I, in turn, highly respect his opinion. But we’ll be watching. If you can’t keep a handle on things, we will not hesitate to grab that handle ourselves.”

Aaron added, “And the quota stops tonight.”
