“I’m not sure.” Jose furrowed his brows as he dug up an old memory. “I just woke up one morning and realized I remembered everything from the night before.” He stopped talking long enough to get another cigarette out. “One of the strange things I found out when I learned to frenis was that I was able to communicate with my mom. We couldn’t talk, like I am right now, but we could pass on our feelings to each other. That seemed to be enough for us.
