Chapter 30—Father Thomas

Father Thomas sat back in his squeaky chair and relaxed. He stared through the window, watching Aaron’s car disappear down the street. Although he didn’t originally join the priesthood to minister to people, he found he rather enjoyed it since his retirement from the Lucerna Veritatis. It was a major change from his life as a warrior, fighting for God under the direction of the Pope.

He reached down on the left side of his desk and pulled an old, time-beaten picture album out from the bottom drawer. Inscribed across the front in faded, gold letters was Thomas Elliot, February 2, 1927, San Francisco, and inside were pictures of his life, from his birth on forward.
