Chapter 19—Lisa Minor

Lisa listened to Craig and Aaron talk for a few minutes before they went down into the basement. She remembered those days well, that part of their lives before she and Craig moved from Virginia Beach to Florida. Growing up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she had never run into a Southern Gentlemen, so Craig’s baritone accent captivated her when they first met. The only accents she had ever heard, outside of a movie theater, were Michigander, her father’s German, and her maternal grandparents’ Dutch. He was a real-life version of Rhett Butler from Gone with the Wind. Unfortunately, a Southern accent on an educated and cultured man doesn’t guarantee intelligence as she found out.
