She laughed a bit. “Yes, I suppose it does,” she agreed with a nod, “but when you’re living in the Middle Ages, you probably need all the encouragement you can get.”

“Yeah, probably,” he conceded.

“Anyway, she’s made her bed. Yours, too, by the looks of it. She’s going to have to sleep in it. You two are going to have to work it out. I wish I had an answer for you, but I don’t.”

Aaron had the feeling Karen was being sneaky and listening right outside the door. “Where is she, anyway?”

“Oh, probably out walking the grounds, trying to clear her head. From what she told Craig, you really let her have it. She’s probably trying to figure out how to smooth things over with you.” She laughed...
