At the command, Alexander pushed his chest forward and accelerated as hard as he could. He screwed his face up with effort and pumped his legs, putting in everything he had. Sweat burst onto his forehead as he drove his arms, leaning forward as he accelerated, feeling the sand kick up behind him as his feet clawed at the floor. He was aware of Davos running alongside him but he could feel that he had not yet been left behind. The noise of the soldiers was deafening and he tried to block out all the sounds. He was now running as fast as he could across the hard packed sand and was managing to still keep pace with Davos.
