There was a moment of disbelief where no-one moved, everyone trying to process what Alcibiades had said. It only lasted a moment though and Nicanos spoke first.

“Wait, what do you mean?” Nicanos spluttered in confusion.

“I have chosen your champion.” Alcibiades amused expression infuriated Nicanos.

“He is not part of this,” Nicanos roared.

“But I said I would choose from your group and I have.” A smile creased Alcibiades’ face.

Alexander had moved forward through the group and emerged into the open where the two men argued. He felt justified as they were discussing him.
