 To Live Is To…..

 He hadn’t changed his mind at all. Whatever I am to him, he’s simply not able to let me go. As I thought about him, it wasn’t surprising when his text came through. As I stared at my dingy smartphone’s screen, I wondered how I had became his. His text read, 

“Good night.”

 It was just two words, but my heart had made them into a thousand. He’s up to something, and as my razor blade and pills became less appealing, I wished I had a joint, something, anything, to help me…relax. I’m afraid and nervous, but my body won’t let me reach for my chosen vice. Are they really worse than weed, even though I’m not old enough to toke up? My mind dashed my rat...
