Escape

The air was thickening, and I struggled to catch my breath. I need to talk to Karla. All I can do is escape from here. I grabbed Blake, and I gave him the best kiss I've ever given him, tongue, and all. I said, giving his hand a squeeze,

“I have to go.”

Before he could offer me a ride or even say goodbye, I was gone. Karla is more important to me than even him, and, as I left the mall, I couldn't stop thinking about her. I know that I'm just a kid, but I care about Karla. Her interest in Rachel seems...off. Karla is hurt, and I'm the only who hurt her. As I hurried down the streets and to Karla's house, I shot off a text to her, reading,
