Initiation

As we drove through the dark night, Cassie pointed to the right, and said,

“There. That's where they live.”

Blake turned and entered the northern neighborhood. The only people who lived here were well-to-do families. Who could they possibly be talking about? As Blake started to slow down, he coasted easily into a parking space in front of a large green home. Blake killed the engine and popped his car’s trunk. He motioned for us to follow him, and I turned to Cassie, expecting her to exit the car first. Cassie smiled, and said,

“No, darling. I have to stay here.”
