When a person at a live play collapses in the audience, a call goes out: "Is there a doctor in the house?". When a democracy collapses in The House of Representatives, we call out: "Is there a speaker in the house?" After 22 days, a Speaker of the House was pucked out of thin air before being vetted by the media. 

No matter that Mike Johnson (R) of Lousianna was qualified to be Speaker, he was elected in the final analysis to continue the fight of the Freedom Caucus to shut down the government. The first bill passed by the House for aid to Israel was dead on arrival to the Senate and the President. The House appeared to be back in operation with the new Speaker at the helm.
