If you believe that children need to be shielded from the savagery of our history, then you are ignoring the facts and covering up inhumanity. Shielding teenagers from knowing why systemic racism is fueled by greed and indoctrination is a huge mistake. 

There are two reasons why mistakes happen. The first reason mistakes happen is out of ignorance - people do not know it happened before when they do it again. It isn't a mistake but a lack of education. To be a mistake, it must be intentional. The second reason mistakes happen is doing something you know needs to be corrected or wrong, and you do it again regardless of the consequences.
