It’s only a week until Christmas Day. Everybody asks “are you all set for Christmas?”

This question bemused me for years. I answered in detail, explaining the exact status of my preparations – culinary, gifts, social events, and decorations.

I realised the correct answer is as vague as possible. Something like “Ah yeah, sure you know yourself” is perfect as it throws the conversational ball straight back at their head.

Now my answer is the truly ambigous - “Getting there.”

We’re not finished decorating the house yet. This is partly because we have far too many Christmas decorations and partly because the Christmas market sucked up so much time...
