I despise ironing. It’s one of the most pointless household chores. You iron a shirt, put it on, and an hour later it’s creased again. It’s right up there with grocery shopping when you’ve a teen in the house, for sheer pointlessness.

The Dragon disagrees. She adores ironing. She irons sheets, towels, underwear. If you stay still too long she’ll iron you.

I should have summoned her to clear my ironing pile today, then she would have found it.

This evening was the parent-teacher meeting night at Jamie’s school. Cal wasn’t working, for once, and his knee is keeping him from the gym, so I had backup. We quizzed Jamie about any questions he wanted us to ask. He didn’t have...
