Today I received two pieces of news. I’ve decided to see them as good news.

The gift shop in town rang to offer me the sales assistant job I interviewed for last week. It’s only thanks to the Dragon that I had any chance with that job. No, she didn’t hand in my details or notice the vacancy, she played a much more vital role.

I applied for the job ages ago because one of the Mother Mafia mentioned they hire extra staff in the run up to Christmas. I wrote a cover letter and dressed up my market stall as retail experience on the application form. I didn’t hear back  and assumed they’d found somebody else but then they rang and asked me to pop in for a chat.
