Cal was working nights this week so I invited Sophie over for dinner on Friday as a thank you for helping me select a lovely interview suit. I topped up her glass of wine and pushed the thought of the calories in the lamb tagine to the back of my mind. The sticky toffee pudding I’d made probably hadn’t helped my waistline either but after the week I’d had, I deserved it.

Sophie shook her head. “I can’t believe you had to cancel your holiday and Cal won’t let you re-book.”

“He’s right unfortunately, it’s more expensive now we’re in High Season. We’ll just have to throw an amazing BBQ party. Did I tell you about the disaster on Monday?”
