Hannah is sulking in in her bedroom and I’m in the kitchen jotting down details of child-minding jobs. This was not one of my better days.

Today started the final week of collecting census forms. Some of our team have finished already. I secretly hate them.

The one bright spark in my day was when I caught the long-haul pilot at home by calling at 8.30 in the morning (by arrangement). He apologised profusely and produced a perfectly completed form. I’m thinking of bringing it around with me to show to people who can’t fill in a simple form. For example -

1. Use Block Capitals – nah, let’s just use normal handwriting.
