I thought everybody in my village was lovely before I started delivering Census forms. Sure there were a few competitive mothers amongst the Mother Mafia, but the vast majority seemed friendly and sane.
Now I’m wondering how I missed their eccentricities.
Today’s delivery rounds are a good example of life as the smallest cog in the census machine. I’d fallen behind on my deliveries, so I decided to catch residents at home during the morning and then go out again once the commuters were home. There was only two weeks until Census Day, when everybody is supposed to complete their form, so I needed to get moving.
