I’ve failed with the “Lost Art of Saying No According to Sophie” but it appears that everybody else has nailed it. My week started with a yes. It’s been “no, no, no” ever since.

I applied to distribute a home shopping catalogue. You know the type, they brim with curious gadgets for the kitchen, novelty gifts, and non-branded cosmetics. The resident fills in an order, leaves the catalogue for collection, and the distributor handles everything else. I figured I was walking everywhere in the village already with the paper route so I could combine the two. Sophie advised me this would be the start of my “portfolio career” with multiple sources of income tailored to my free time. I wasn’t convinced.
