There are two schools of thought when it comes to parenting. In one version the parents come first and their children fit in around their pre-child lives, what I call B.C. or  Before Children.  In my version the parents fit in around the children. It doesn't mean that they get to call the shots or that I lack the ability to say No to them when needed. But if there's a clash, we’ll choose what suits the family as a whole rather than me.

Today featured one of those clashes, which is ironic given the date. Today is the sixth of  January or Little Christmas.
