Instead of sleeping, I’m busy sweeping
cobwebs and dust bunnies of you
hiding in the shadows,
in the corners of my mind.
Clear your mind, turn the pillow,
try another drink of water.
Rain tapping on the window, wind tickling the chimes,
twinkling lights dancing on the walls,
keeping me company.
Daylight creeps in, lightening the gloom.
Another day, without you.
With kitties and doggos to feed,
and cobwebs to sweep.
Cobwebs I can reach,
and chase away.
