Tori couldn’t stop staring at the explosion. “What was even left to blow?” she whispered.
“There was still some oxygen inside, wasn’t there?” Gabe stood and moved closer to the big screen, as if a closer look could somehow make it all make sense.
“Yes, but it was stable when we visited. I checked as soon as that machine stated warning us about bombs.”
“It was stable for the years Mr. Yi lived there, too. This can’t be any kind of natural phenomenon.”
“The shifting calculations necessary to facilitate the energy transfer didn’t feel natural, either,” Tori said.
“No. I’m pretty sure we have Mr. Gao to thank for both.”
