Tori’s makeshift suit did its job for the trip to the Huan Xiang Zhou, but a few of the joins got loose. She mended them as soon as got herself through the airlock, which wasn’t any trouble to manipulate from the control panel outside. Why had Mr. Gao insisted on doing it manually?
She found Gabe in an alcove off the bridge, a boxy black monitor with a keyboard resting on his knees.
“How’s it going?”
“Not bad. The code has a surprising amount of English in it. There’s enough Chinese that I’m glad I found a translator app, though.”
“Perfect. I think the information we’re most interested in is anything technical, anything medical, anything to do with surviving in space—you know, anything that might be useful?”
