Tori slapped her hands over her ears when Brian screamed, but that just made the noise louder. The sound came from her earrings, after all.

She knew that. “Brian, are you ok? What’s going on?” she asked as she stabbed at the volume controls on her armband.

She must have taken it down too much because she heard nothing at all for about thirty seconds. Cautiously, she brought the volume back up.
