They’d been drifting four weeks and three days before Tori and Gabe got the full nav, piloting, and energy sensor systems fully functional.

“Ready?” Tori asked when she was ready to push the button to test it yet another time.

“Wait a sec. Let me get Lu and Brian up here. I have a good feeling about this one.”

Tori sighed. Gabe always had a good feeling about the tests, and he was always wrong. “One of these times they’re going to stop coming.”

“Maybe, but they should have the opportunity to see the path back to Hope when we get it mapped.”

Tori supposed he was right. She wished she could be sure they actually had it mapped, though. She nodded at Gabe, and he took off toward the back of the ship....
