That was the word for what Tori felt when Lu and idiot boy showed up while she and Gabe were attempting to sing one of his half-remembered church songs.
Her mortification only deepened when Lu and idiot boy plopped down next to them on the galley floor and joined in.
Lu’s high sweet soprano filled the whole space. The rhythm Gabe was tapping out on his knee picked up a bit, and he sang more loudly, more confidently, like he actually knew the song, his voice filling in depth beneath Lu’s melody.
Idiot boy melded his voice in so perfectly that Tori forgot for a moment that she didn’t like him.
Tori stopped singing entirely, and gaped. So that’s what this song was supposed to sound like.
