Tori wanted to pull her hair out.

Well, not really. She loved her hair—even if it occasionally got in her way when she tinkered with the ship innards. She just needed to find something to cover it when she was doing maintenance.

And she needed to resist the urge to yank at it every time Gabe made her crazy. Like he was doing right now.

“I just think we need a break,” he was saying, “and besides, I need to get some time with God—church, you know.”

“Half the systems on the ship are still broken! Now isn’t the time to be slacking.” Tori tried not to shout, but she wasn’t sure she was successful.

“I don’t know,” Brian said, looking up from the unidentifiable brown stuff he was frying on the hot plate...
