Lu wished she could be sure she was setting up the mini greenhouse correctly. The instructions weren’t exactly clear, but she didn’t want to interrupt Gabe and Tori’s navigation calculations to get their input.

She could ask Brian, but he probably wouldn’t be any better at this than she was. Possibly worse.

As if summoned by her thinking of him, Brian appeared in the space off the kitchen that appeared to be designed with greenhouses in mind. He carried a small, orange crate. “Hey, look what I found!”

Lu stopped trying to find the right size bolts for attaching the grow lights to their stands and peered into the crate. It held dozens of small vacuum-sealed packets. “What is that? Some kind of food?”

“Even better! Condoms.”
