Tori and Gabe had finished fixing their navagation and were helping Lu and Brian put the bunks back together when a message from Hope came through.

Tori thought she might dance—until she saw the attached damage reports. Hope had lost the shuttle bay, much of the flight wing, the maintenance crew, many of the flight commanders, and both of the other shuttles.

The material and equipment was bad enough, but all those people!

Tori sank to the floor as she scrolled down the list of names. Most she knew only slightly, but a few belonged to people she worked with every day.
