Sam wasn’t sure how he got through the first day with the Singh scholarship schedule. He could barely keep his eyes open even though he’d normally find the science, math, and even the history fascinating.

“And here we thought you were some sort of genius,” the big guy at the desk next to him sneered the second time he messed up his chemistry formulas.

What was his problem?

Then Sam remembered that the guy had been among the group Wilson had brought to corner him the other morning. A netball player, though Sam couldn’t remember the guy’s name.

And now, he was a classmate. Delightful. Sam smiled, or tried to, though he was pretty sure only one corner of his mouth quirked upward. “Yeah, I’ve obviously got somebody fooled.”
