Eleanor couldn’t feel her arm when she woke the next morning in the still dim hours of sleep cycle. Below her, Mandy tossed restlessly in her bunk.
“Did you sleep at all?” Eleanor whispered as she massaged her arm, trying to rub feeling back into it.
“Maybe a little? Every time I drifted off, I could feel his hands on me.”
“I’m so sorry, Mandy,” Eleanor said. “We should probably get you some therapy.”
Mandy sighed. “Maybe. But you know GenM won’t promote anyone who needs it. Considers them unstable, incapable of being good managers.”
“Are you sure you still want to work for them?”
“Yes, El. They run everything on the ship. I think I could do real good there.”
