look nice for work, when the train whizzed by on the platform.  She tried to catch it, but it was taken under the train, no doubt damaged irreparably. 

Then it was the day before Christmas Eve.  I’m going to be brave and I’m going to figure out how to talk to this guy today, she thought to herself.  Selena went early to the train station. She hoped the handsome stranger hadn’t taken the day off for the holiday.

He was nowhere to be found.  Selena was disappointed, but this was Christmastime, so he probably went home for the holidays.  That’s ok, she thought, I’ll probably see him after Christmas or in the new year.
