I had taken a new post outside the door.  It still stung to see her.  The doctor stepped out from examining Anna and turned to me.  “Did you want an update?”  I nodded.  Putting on a fake smile that I knew all too well, he spoke.  “Ms. White is going to be fine.  Another few days here for observation and I’ll release her.  Just remember that she needs plenty of rest.”
“What about her memory?”
“With a concussion a mild as hers, we believed that there would have been no memory loss.  However, the brain is not an exact science.  It appears to be that Ms. White repressed the traumatic events in a subconscious attempt to spare her from the pain.  Who knows, she could remember tonight, tomorrow, in a year, or never.&nbs...
