Today could not get any worse. After leaving the shop, Leo and I walked two blocks before pulling our guns. “I’ll thank you for getting me out of there, but I still have my orders.”
“Understood. However, let’s make a deal.” Leo’s brow furrowed. I didn’t like what I was going to say either. “Your employer is currently under my employer’s control. If you choose to go rescue him, I will not interfere only if you give me three days before you come after me again.”
Then he grinned. “Tonight only. Tomorrow, you’re fair game.”
Of course three days would be asking too much, but I was given something. Chuckling, I brought my gun down. “Deal.”
