The night was quiet when I didn’t listen to the sirens. Thankfully, it was a cool evening. Running through a burning building in this jacket wasn’t comfortable. My escape didn’t go exactly as planned either, but at least I was out of there. Walking the long way home wasn’t much better. A rifle on my back was a clear give-a-way that I had been up to something. I had left the case a few blocks away from the warehouse and it was still there, hidden behind the dumpster. The restaurant was also empty when I returned. Samuel even remembered to lock the doors. Taking out my spare key, I slipped in through the back. When I opened the door to my room, Anna jumped. Surprised her again. Silence is key to being me and it must have amazed her...
