Whatever I expected to come from Ryan driving me home - which was nothing, I expected nothing, Ariadne calling me out in the hall on the following Monday as I headed to my locker mid-period wasn’t anywhere in the ballpark. Especially because she didn’t have the same lunch.
“Beni! How are you?” she glided over to me. Her smile soft and white - perfect as if she practiced it.
I glanced around, but nobody else was in the hall. “I’m good. You?”
