Frank extended his hand and smirked. “Wonderful to see you as well, Allie. What invigorating circumstances, too. I’m hoping my friend over there will be good enough to hand you over to me for a bit of entertainment before He slurps your soul out like candy. Tell me, do you think it will taste sweet or lean toward the savory side?”

“I’ve got a better plan,” I said. I realized that the liquid feeling I usually had in the pit of my belly when Frank was near was not there. It had been replaced by an overwhelming anger. I figured I had the Devil to thank for that; the same Devil that I was studiously not looking at just yet.
