     The Worst Day saw the end of Old Man Heavener, Monty Fisk, fourteen transient workers who may or may not have shared their names with someone in the community, and Arnold Haskel. It was a bloody and useless end mostly brought about by boredom and opportunity. Ann Haskel watched the light leave her husband's eyes from underneath one of his killers. At that moment, she hated him for abandoning her to her fate almost as much as she had loved him the rest of their time together. The thing on top of her didn't even have enough decency to kill her in the end. Instead, it snorted, kicked dust in her tear-streaked face and hobbled off on goaty legs.
